Dear Grandma…

January 26th, 2011

I am always willing to help someone out. My friend, Dave, messaged me about his grandma. In short, his grandma fell and broke a bone in her leg. She is in a rehab facility until she gets better, because she can’t put any weight on her leg. This is where I am asking for a favor. (Yes. Really.)

In his post (Grandma Goes on the DL) he asks that we all send her a card or a note encouraging her to keep working to get better. I am sending mine tomorrow. Please consider doing this… As Dave said in his post, YOU may be faced with a challenge in your life and might need the encouragement and support of many, even if they are total strangers.

Can you imagine the happiness we could give this lady, a stranger to most of us, just by sending a quick note? If she received 50, 100, 200 cards and letters… Wow. It doesn’t take much of your time, and I am all about bringing joy to those who need it, even if I don’t know them. PLEASE send this out to as many people as you can. Let’s make a difference.

You can find her address at the bottom of Dave’s blog post: Grandma Goes on the DL.

Thank you for considering doing this. I appreciate it, and I know Dave will, too.

This sounds like a really cool idea!! I will definitely send her a card! I’ve been to quite a few hospitals as an EMT and I know the difference 1, let alone 50, cards of well wishes can mean to someone who is hurting. Plus, I think she will be thrilled to receive cards from all over the US!! :•] @bongoliso [Dustin]
