My day generally begins with me waking up at 5:30am. However, I don’t find my way out of bed until 6:30am, simply because I am busy scrolling through my Facebook feed. I [need] to know what happened while I was asleep. I read Facebook in the morning like one would read a newspaper. I usually roll over, shut off the alarm, and start to read what’s going on in the lives of my friends and family. Then I check in again while I wait for my bagel, coffee, or whatever else may cause me to have a moment to do nothing on my way to work. While I wait, I look at Facebook. I might miss something that someone did, has an opinion about, saw, or found online. (Some of those videos are so far beyond adorable!)
Last night, I decided this behavior needs to come to a screeching halt, for several reasons.
As I sit down to write tonight, my heart is very heavy. What I am about to write, no one should ever have to write. This may seem to conflict what I posted last night, but I honestly think it goes perfectly together. Today, something happened… Something that really isn’t uncommon, unfortunately… But someone needs to say something, and hopefully this can help at least one person. Some people are going to call me paranoid, but I would rather be called paranoid and help one naive person out there, than sit here and say nothing at all. Because of my personal beliefs on this issue, I can’t sit here silently. So, please listen… especially young people.
To celebrate my 10,000th tweet, I decided to give away a munkiebabble.com hoodie to a follower on Twitter.
The contest is closed. CONGRATULATIONS to @mayfieldfan4eve!
To enter the contest, entrants must have been following my Twitter account (@MunkieBabble) at the time of the drawing, and sent out the tweet exactly as it appears on this page. Sending the tweet out more than once did not increase chances of winning.
THE RULES OF THE CONTEST APPEAR BELOW: Continue reading »
The other night I opened Twitter and found that I had been “invited” to use what has been “tagged” as #newtwitter. For those who haven’t used Twitter, adding a # (hashtag) in front of any word makes it “linkable.” Clicking on any word tagged with a # in front of it will bring you to the latest mentions of it. Some examples of popular “tags” are: #fail #bethankful #happy #justinbieber (You guys knew I’d throw that in there) — On with what I am really writing about. In short, I was invited to use the new version of Twitter, and while I think it is over-all a great idea…. Continue reading »
Everyone who knows me, knows I have Twitter accounts. Yes, multiple. For several different “kinds” of posts. Some have dubbed me, “The Twitter Queen.” Pretty much everything I think goes on Twitter. That’s the point of it, right? Well, with opening my @MunkieBabble account to the public, I have invited nearly 10,000 random people to read all about what I call, “My Life.” I will explain in more detail why I use Twitter. You’ll be surprised. Continue reading »
